Without the dark central blob this could have made a good photo but there was just no line of sight to eliminate it. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Taiwan Cherries at Centennial Park are the first herald of spring and attract a hui of Tui who engage in earnest oratory between sips of nectar. It is busy with birds and backgrounds making clean pictures difficult. I have been on leave this week catching up with Subantarctic images and writing. I have managed 2 trips to photograph the Tuis and thought it worth interrupting the Subantarctic blog flow for some seasonal images celebrating Spring. Careful choice of position can help utilise out of focus foreground and background elements to keep the focus on the bird.
