On the first trip I managed some lovely images of a male <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tonywhitehead.com\/wildlight\/archives\/6079\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Auckland Island Teal<\/a>, one of which is the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nzbirdsonline.org.nz\/species\/auckland-island-teal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">featured image for the species on NZ Birds Online<\/a>. We encountered this early on our round island hike as we were moving in an anticlockwise direction and found the duty duck justifying the name. She was a little less scruffy and posed for some reasonable images.
