Working with my daughter with birds the same age as her gave me a deep appreciation for these remarkable creatures that we share the planet with and unknowingly influence with our self centred behaviour. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They are also known as T\u012bt\u012b and Northern Muttonbird as their chicks are traditionally harvested like the chicks of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tonywhitehead.com\/wildlight\/archives\/14707\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">T\u012bti\/Sooty Shearwater<\/a>, a challenging concept for those who know the effort invested in raising a single offspring.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Celebration of Te Wiki O Te Reo M\u0101ori\/M\u0101ori Language Week 2021 &#8211;
