After Friday’s bonus post to celebrate 1 April<\/a>, we’re back to Milford Sound\/piopiotahi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I wrote recently of my preference for Black and White images of Milford Sound<\/a> so thought I would share some of my colour images so that you can see if you share my opinion. These were taken during our stay prior to the visit which was apart of the Nature Photography Summit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Having a day with some clear sky I was hopeful for some sunset colour late in the day but things didn’t quite work out. The best I got was a brief blush brushed onto the top of Mitre Peak which combined with a long exposure gave quite a nice image shown below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This spell of weather had been preceded by sustained heavy rain that got the rivers raging. Our waterproofs got some good use when out photographing during the deluge. Slow shutter speeds recorded some motion in the torrents and blurred out the raindrops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Looking across from our unit at Milford Sound Lodge<\/a> the endlessly changing scene of rain, clouds and forest was intriguing and prompted quite a few images with this next one probably the nicest to my eye.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once the rain had settled the sandflies were out in force so this next photo was paid for with quite few bites! Fortunately I no longer react to them too much so no itchy welts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
