I recently received an email via my website which was right out of the blue. The best way to share it is by copying the content of the email;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I wanted to reach out and express my heartfelt gratitude for the incredible content you share on your blog.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your photos and articles have been a huge inspiration for our latest project, “Life in the Sub-Antarctic Campbell Island – The Weather Station Years.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your work has helped shape the wildlife-themed songs in our album, featuring the Campbell teal, yellow-eyed penguin, and Wildflowers Megaherbs. Collaborating with a Metservice workers stationed on the island in the 1980s added authenticity to our project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our album is now available on major streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube. I hope you’ll get the chance to listen, knowing your website was part of the inspiration. Additionally, our songs are royalty-free on YouTube, should you ever wish to use them with your photos or videos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I found this very touching as it resonates with a place very close to my heart – Campbell Island in the New Zealand Subantarctic. It was nice to feel that my images and writing had been a resource in a creative work by someone who shares my enthusiasm for the island. My blog with images and writing is largely a personal discipline that gives me an opportunity to relive my pleasure of past experiences. It gets fired out onto the internet with no expectation that anyone even sees it but I episodically get some very encouraging\/appreciative feedback and this was one of those times. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
