While not a militarily successful campaign, Gallipoli is considered to have played a significant part in the development of New Zealand, Australian and\u00a0Turkish national identity. Anzac Day 2015\u00a0marks the Centenary of the landing and as a result has been commemorated with a number of special events in addition to the usual dawn services on the day. One of the local events was the consecration of a Garden of Remembrance \u00a0at the Cenotaph in the Government Gardens, Rotorua recognising those from the district that had served and lost their
