Silvereye."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The spring blossoms have dropped and the leaves are bursting out. This Silvereye dropped in to our feeding station and perched briefly on a weeping Cherry branch.<\/p>\n<p>Nikon D800 with 500VR + TC14. ISO 800 1\/400s f5.6, monopod. I kept the aperture wide open to keep the depth of field shallow to blur out the leaf buds and perch in front of the bird. Placing the focus point on the eye keeps the main point of interest sharp. I have found that micro adjusting focussing is essential to get the best results when using long, fast lenses. <a title=\"LensAlign\" href=\"http:\/\/michaeltapesdesign.com\/lensalign.html\">LensAlign 2<\/a> makes this a relatively simple process which is well worth the effort.
