Inquisitive young Sea Lion who reinforced the advice to never work with children or animals (or children of animals)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

A romantic tale of a tartan clad lady on Campbell Island was one of the historical aspects of the trip that Paul Charman shared with us. Paul writes for the New Zealand Herald and, accompanied by his wife, Debra-Rose, was on a mission to capture some images in celebration of the story of the Lady of the Heather. On our second day in Perseverance Harbour we started with a Zodiac cruise to Camp Cove and Tucker Cover in search of wildlife and historical sites. Camp Cove was\u00a0the site of an old hut that was supposedly inhabited by a woman who has been variously described as the illegitimate daughter of Bonnie Prince Charlie or a ship girl accompanying sealers. While the latter seems more plausible, the former possibly makes a more interesting story. With that in mind and armed with a staff and a length of tartan sponsored by \u00a0Dunedin’s Scottish Shop<\/a>, Paul and Debra-Rose set up their shoot. An uninvited, although probably entirely appropriate, “extra” in the form of an inquisitive young Sea Lion, took an interest and made a bit of nuisance of himself.
