Time to think and time to see. Time even to think about time. The noise of life often distracts and interferes with seeing. Many, I think, live their lives looking without actually ever truely seeing and, when I find myself in the situation of not having time to see, I begin to feel a little desperate. Seeing brings me joy. I don&#8217;t know why and I no longer care why. I just enjoy the fact that I can access joy simply by seeing. The light on a hill, the shape of a path, the fleeting composition of 2 trees against the line of a cutting in the road all bring me little bursts of pleasure from simply seeing them. One of my great fears is losing my sight and while it is not what it once was, it is still plenty good enough for what I need.<\/p>\n<p>Seeing needs time and practice. When I get into the right space, I see things everywhere. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tonywhitehead.com\/wildlight\/2017\/04\/north-island-road-trip\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Last week<\/a> we explored some natural scenes with textures and colours. These 2 photos &nbsp;were found in our hotel room. How often have we looked at a towel on a rail or a pushed back sheet and failed to see the&nbsp;textures, lines, shadows and play of light?
