I wasn’t planning on posting images of New Year Fireworks Photography again but had such a spike in visits to my blog post from last year<\/a> as readers planned their own fireworks photography that I thought I had better share an update for New Year 2018.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

This time we had cloud cover for the 9:15 early show for the young children which gave enough dark for the fireworks but still a bit of light to capture the blue of the night sky. I used the Nikon D810 with 24-120mm f4 lens mounted on a tripod to make image stacking easier if needed. I found a spot I have used before where access to the lake edges lets you use the water as an element to reflect the light and colours of the fireworks.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Exposure of 1\/125 second at f4 and ISO 1600 gave good files to process through Adobe Lightroom Classic CC. I have been having a bit of play with the Luminar 2018<\/a> update from Skylum (previously Macphun)<\/a> and used their mild image enhance preset at 50% opacity to bring up the contrast and vibrance a little.<\/p>\n

Despite planning my New Year Fireworks Photography for image layering I was happy with the single frames and didn’t bother to stack and blend images. Best wishes for a another year of fun image making in 2018.<\/p>\n
