Auckland Uni – Photographic Society Exhibition

We spent this weekend in Auckland to visit with Edin and see her photo in the Auckland University Photographic Society Exhibition. The theme for the exhibition was “The Streets” and she had submitted an image taken in Oxford and processed as a duotone and it was one of two images chosen to promote the exhibition in the university magazine. See her blog post for more details and a copy of her photo.

The exhibition is at the Theatre Cafe on Karangahape Road which closes midafternoon so we made an early start from Rotorua with the hope of a late lunch but circumstances got us there after the kitchen had closed so it was tea/coffee and muffins/scones but we had the entire picturesque upper level to ourselves so could enjoy the exhibition. We then headed down Queen Street to the waterfront and caught a ferry across to Devonport for a wander through an old bookshop and up Mount Victoria to see the toadstool patch and then a fabulous pub dinner at The Patriot. The Salmon Salad, Cumberland Coil and Beef & Guinness Pie were all fantastic and will lure us back again.

Another fabulous day in Auckland with the Fuji X100 – I’m working through a set of urban images that will be the topic of another blog post.
